That Fit, We Tint"

Siberia, USA: Today, global warming. Tonight, dark, unless you count the stars. Tomorrow can be reached via time machine. Yesterday, who can remember that far back?

Sequences, 09-15-98

Digging in the analog archives the other day (corrugated cardboard cartons), found this gem of a sequential sketch from 7 years ago.

Sequences 091598, Page 1Cylinder develops darkened bands, splits into 5 cylinders, lines up in color formation.

Sequences 091598, Page 2Small cylinders become spools, pinched at waist; two choices of how they become shining 3D IoIo.

Sequences 091598, Page 3IoIo seen from side; horizontal metallic hatching becomes book pages; book binding is seen from side, while dark cylinders retain their identity.

Sequences 091598, Page 4Closed books become keys, gain elaboration; dark cylinders separate in half; keys line up opposite each other.

Sequences 091598, Page 5Business end of the keys become little men with a handshake deal; half-cylinders become S-curves; the whole shebang becomes 2 roosters with a bite of grain in their beaks.

Sequences 091598, Page 6Negative space between the 2 birds becomes positive, a flat crested figure; the crest becomes a typewriter eraser, the center becomes a seashell, the bottom becomes a wooden T-square.

Sequences 091598, Page 7A final glimpse of the three objects.
